PERSIMMON PATCH FARM & MALANDA DAIRY CENTRE
Fresh Baked Muffins for Morning Tea at the Persimmon Patch Farm will delight you….. First planted in 1984, the Persimmon orchard was almost destroyed by Cyclone Larry in 2006. Since purchasing the property in 2013, Howard & Tamara have expanded the orchard and implemented organic principles and spray free fruit.
We will be taken on a short walking tour, hear about the operation of this farm and see the Dorper (self shedding) sheep, free range chickens & new borns too, plus guinea fowl, pigs, jersey cows..you may even be able to hand feed the sheep
The Malanda Dairy Centre is the next stop along the way. Time to browse the Museum and Gallery.
The museum is a wonderful collection of local family stories beautifully presented by the Eacham Historical Society. Plus a wonderful Mabi wildlife Gallery in house featuring the fine works of wildlife painter Daryl Dickson and photographs by Martin Willis.
